CHICAGO – Great support was shown for the USA Track & Field Foundation, GNC (General Nutrition Corporation), and Foundation Grantee Erik Sowinski at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Health and Fitness Expo. Sowinski signed autographs, took pictures, and exchanged tips to running enthusiasts preparing to take on the marathon.
The 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon was a culmination of events leading up to race day including the two-day expo and a 27th mile after race party in Grant Park. It was a weekend filled with energy, support, and determination all in the name of running.
The first place finisher for the marathon was Eliud Kipchoge for the men with a time of 2:04:11. Taking gold for the women was Rita Jeptoo with a time of 2:24:35 winning her fourth straight major marathon.
Also present to support these runners was a local Foundation Youth Club Grantee, Coach Heraldo Morrison. Morrison is the Coach of the Chicago Saints Track Club.
