INDIANAPOLIS - USATF Foundation elite grant recipients Keisha Baker and Jamaal Torrence were awarded gold medals as members of Team USA’s winning 4x400 meter relays at the recently completed IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, announced Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic and Chairman Bob Greifeld.

“It is very rewarding to see our USATF Foundation grantees bringing home medals,” said Jackovic.“Congratulations to Keisha and Jamaal.”

Both athletes contributed significantly to their team’s success in winning their respective semi-final heats, thrusting Team USA into the finals, where they each brought home the gold medal.

Kesha ran a strong anchor leg in sealing victory for the quartet which included Natasha Hastings, Jessica Beard and Francena McCorory.

Running second leg, Jamaal immediately opened a large gap that was never relinquished, securing a win along with team-mates Greg Nixon, Michael Berry and LaShawn Merritt.
