19 Elite Athlete Grant recipients to compete in Daegu at the 2011 World Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation is pleased to announce that a total of 19 Elite Athlete Grant recipients (9 men & 10 women) will be representing Team USA at the upcoming 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, from August 27 to September 4, 2011.

Men’s team:

• Lance Brooks (discus throw)
• Ryan Harlan (decathlon)
• Mike Hazle (javelin throw)
• Mark Hollis (pole vault)
• Daniel Huling (3000 meter steeplechase)
• Kibwe Johnson (hammer throw)
• David Oliver (110 meter hurdles)
• Trevell Quinley (long jump)
• Jamaal Torrance (400 meters/4x400 meter relay)

Women’s team:

• Keisha Baker (4x400 meter relay)
• Stephanie Brown-Trafton (discus throw)
• Kylie Hutson (pole vault)
• Kara Patterson (javelin throw)
• Alice Schmidt (800 meters)
• Sarah Stevens-Walker (shot put)
• Aretha Thurmond (discus throw)
• Morgan Uceny (1500 meters)
• Maggie Vessey (800 meters)
• Rachel Yurkovich (javelin throw)

The Foundation Elite Athlete Grant Program contributes to the pursuit of world-class performances by American post-collegiate track and field athletes. Athletes must meet minimum performance and financial need standards to be eligible and agree to participate in the Win With Integrity program.
