Bettie Wade wins 2011 USA Indoor Combined Events Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - At the recently completed USA Indoor Combined Events Championships held at Indiana University’s Gladstein Fieldhouse this past weekend, Bettie Wade scored 4,439 points to take the overall women’s title, announced Chairman Bob Greifeld and Executive Director Tom Jackovic.

The event is comprised of 5 disciplines: 60 meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meter run. Taking fifth place was Liz Roehrig, with a total of 4,118 points. On the men’s side, Chris Helwick totaled 5,681 points in securing third place in the heptathlon (60 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60 meter hurdles, pole vault, 1,000 meter run).
