USATF Foundation announces 14 Youth Grant recipients7-15-2010INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation Chairman Bob Greifeld and Executive Director Tom Jackovic announced today it has awarded 14 youth grants to track & field clubs throughout the country. The grants assist young male and female athletes with expenses such as travel to meets, equipment, uniforms, awards and facility rental. “It is very rewarding to assist so many young people with opportunities to compete in track & field,” said Jackovic. “This is where it all starts, with clubs like these.” The following youth clubs were approved to receive a Foundation grant:
The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging elite athletes, distance training centers and anti-doping education. Each year, the Foundation awards more than half a million dollars in grants and other support. The Foundation depends upon donations from its Board of Directors and from generous fans of track & field.
