Mike Matte named to USATF Foundation Board of Directors4-27-2010INDIANAPOLIS - Mike Matte, President & Owner, Marathon CEO Leadership, has been named as a Director of the USA Track & Field Foundation Board, USATF Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic and Chairman Bob Greifeld announced today. “Mike is an avid marathon runner and all-around athlete, corporate leader and motivational speaker, amongst many other talents,” said Jackovic. “His skills will positively impact the Foundation Board.” A long distance runner throughout his high school years, Matte received a congressional appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy where he continued his running career while going through rigorous military and academic training. His active military service included commanding B-52 flight line squadrons on high alert during the Tehran hostage crisis. Matte brings self-discipline, high energy and character to everything in his life, and has consistently dedicated himself to instilling marathon fitness principles in others. In the past 25 years, he has worked with more than 40 companies and business units as CEO, President and General Manager, leading their financial and operations turnarounds by creating highly-motivated employee teams. Today he delivers inspirational messages across the country as a public speaker, motivating his audiences to make conscious choices that improve their lives as well as their job performance, thereby making themselves and their companies marathon fit. He embodies the principles he teaches, having completed more than 400 road races, including seven marathons. He lives in Houston, Texas.
