USATF Foundation announces 15 Youth Grant recipients

INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation Chairman Bob Greifeld and Executive Director Tom Jackovic announced today it has awarded 15 youth grants to track & field clubs throughout the country.  The grants assist young male and female athletes with expenses such as travel to meets, equipment, uniforms, awards and facility rental.

"The Foundation is delighted to award these grants that provide opportunities for local communities to expose their young people to the benefits of track and field, said Paul Lilly, Foundation Director. "We encourage other fans to join us in helping America's youth athletes discover their potential."

USATF Foundation grants were made to the following clubs:

  • Awesome Power Track Club (NY), $1500
  • C.L Athletics Stars Track Club (TX), $2000
  • DeKalb County Express Track Club (GA), $1500
  • Hilltop Speed Track Club (CA), $1500
  • Hub City Runners (MD), $1500
  • Inlet Grove Track & Field (FL), $1500
  • Lincoln Heights Track Club (OH), $1500
  • Massey Miracle Run (LA), $2000
  • SE Mississippi Track Club (MS), $1500
  • Newfane Elementary Track Club (VT), $600
  • Prospect Park Youth Running Club (NY), $1500
  • Randleman Elementary School (NC), $750
  • Southeast Middle School (CA), $1000
  • Superior Track Club (CO), $1500
  • Throw 1 Deep Club (GA), $1500

The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging elite athletes, distance training centers and anti-doping education. Each year, the Foundation awards more than half a million dollars in grants and other support. The Foundation depends upon donations from its Board of Directors and from generous fans of track & field.
