You become successful when you set goals, make a plan and build a route.” He encourages readers to view the difficult moments in life as 10 percent of the equation; it’s the response – the 90 percent – he says, that defines a life. With humor, humility, joy and even sadness, he offers his own life stories to inspire readers to get mentally focused, emotionally connected, physically energized and spiritually aligned with their purpose. Mike uses the sport of running both literally and metaphorically to explore the root causes of soaring health costs, youth obesity and mediocrity in the workplace, while promoting mental, emotional, physical and spiritual fitness. An avid long-distance runner, he has completed more than 400 road races, including seven marathons. He has led the operational and financial turnaround of more than 40 companies and business units ranging from $5 million to $500 million in annual revenue. Mike lives with his family in Houston, Texas. The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging elite athletes, distance training centers and anti-doping education. The Foundation depends upon donations from its Board of Directors and from generous fans of track & field.
