USA Track & Field Foundation announces 14 Youth Grant recipients

INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation and Executive Director Tom Jackovic announced today it has awarded 14 youth grants to track & field clubs throughout the country. The grants assist young male and female athletes with expenses such as travel to meets, equipment, uniforms, awards and facility rental.

“It’s exciting to be a part of an organization that creates such diverse opportunities for youths to participate in the sport of track and field. This quarter’s grantees hail from locales as disparate as Massachusetts and Mississippi, but they have in common a fundamental commitment to encourage children to be active, to participate and to excel,” said USATF Foundation Director Amory Rowe.

USATF Foundation grants were made to the following clubs:

  • Blue Thunder Track Club (Columbia, MO)
  • Castle Track Club (Oakland, CA)
  • El Paso Athletic Track Academy (El Paso, TX)
  • Evergreen Storm Club (Vancouver, WA)
  • False Start Management (Winter Park, FL)
  • Kansas Thunder TC (Desoto, KS)
  • Lima Striders (Lima, OH)
  • Pole Pilots TC (Tucson, AZ)
  • Saugus Community Track Association (Saugus, MA)
  • Scecina Memorial HS XC Team (Indianapolis, IN)
  • Spokane Mercury Athletic Club (Spokane, WA)
  • South East Mississippi TC (MS)
  • Stallions TC (Pittsburgh, PA)
  • Summer Heat TC (Reklaw, TX)

The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging athletes and anti-doping education.
