9-2-2008

Indianapolis – Under Armour Inc., has paired with the USA Track & Field Foundation to provide workout gear to hundreds of youth track & field athletes, USATF Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic announced today.

“Raphael Peck (Vice President of Footwear and Licensing) and the Under Armour staff have been very supportive of USATF Foundation sponsored programs, this being just another example of their commitment to growing our sport,” said Jackovic. “With the Olympic Games in Beijing just completed, interest in track & field is on the rise. The Foundation greatly appreciates Under Armour helping us make track & field more accessible to all.”

Gear recipients were selected through the USTAF Foundation’s Youth Grant program.  The Youth Grant program typically funds track & field clubs with grants ranging from $1500 to $5000 to assist with expenses such as travel, equipment and apparel. The gear distribution program was executed for the first time in 2008, and will be repeated again in 2009.
