in Morgan's words:

"It has been through Reebok, the USA Track & Field Foundation's Elite Athlete Development Grant, and other donors that have allowed me this opportunity for which I am truly grateful." "Without the help of donors and sponsors, it wouldn't be possible for me to commit to this dream, so Thank You!"

I was born and raised in Plymouth, Indiana, which is located about 30 miles South of South Bend, Indiana, where Notre Dame University is located. I was extremely active and competed in as many sports as I could. My main passion when I was younger was for basketball, and I dedicated as much of my spare time to improving my skills on the court. Track and running were seasons that I used to get in shape for basketball. Eventually, I realized that my talents were on the track, and so my basketball career ended when I went to Cornell University, where I was on the track team for 4 years. I had a rough start to my career, but overcame many obstacles to achieve much success by the time I graduated. I was fortunate enough to gain a running contract from Reebok that enabled me to pursue my dream of running professionally. It has been through Reebok, the USA Track & Field Foundation's Elite Athlete Development Grant, and other donors that have allowed me this opportunity for which I am truly grateful.

I recently moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA to join the premier track club in the country, where I hope to further push my limits and see just how far I can go. While a lot of my time is dedicated to training, my off time is spent reading, cooking, playing board games, and hanging out with my fellow teammates and friends. I have also spent a decent amount of time exploring my new home, which is just like living in a postcard. Mammoth Lakes is a truly majestic place, so I have been touring around the local sites and looking for bears and other wildlife! It's been a great beginning to my season and I can't wait for things to get started. Without the help of donors and sponsors, it wouldn't be possible for me to commit to this dream, so Thank You!

Thanks,

Morgan Uceny, 800 Meters
