In Keith's words: "The USATF Foundation grant was the best thing that happened to me. It was a blessing from God. When I got that check in the mail, I went crazy! I was able to build a great relationship with my chiropractor, Josh Glass, who is based here in Atlanta, so I see him on the regular. I also have a massage therapist, Robin Matthews. Both Josh and Robin have been able to keep my body healthy and uninjured, which helped me to make it to the World Championships and make it to finals in the High Jump. This grant also helped me to get to certain meets that I have wanted to go to in the past, but which my school never traveled to. It also helped motivate me into being a great high jumper, feeling I had to succeed so that the USATF Foundation would not think that they gave the grant to the wrong person. I am very grateful for the USATF Foundation helping me achieve my dreams." I have 2 sides, a real shy quiet side, and a real goofy funny side. I grew up all over the US because I am an army brat. My father was in the military, so I traveled a lot growing up. I lived in Germany for 5 years, which was fun. I grew up playing basketball, which is my first love. When I started high school "Menchville High School," I started out playing basketball. After basketball season was over, I would go home and be bored everyday because I had nothing else to do. My mother was tired of me complaining about being bored, so she told me one day that I better go out and join a club, do another sport or find any other activity to do after school. So I went out for the track team not knowing what event to do. Started out with running, which sucked. I tried all of the jumps and I was descent. Tried the high jump and it started out fun. I was not that good but I just kept trying and trying, and up until this day, I hold the VHSL record of 7'3" in VA. No one has broke my VA high school record for 9 years. So to make a long story short, if my mother did not make me join track, I would not have recieved a Full Scholarship, would not have traveled the world, and would not be representing NIKE.
