Being able to compete at an elite level in track and field requires a lot of support, both athletically as well as financially. Without the support I have received from the USATF Foundation, I wouldn’t be able to apply the necessary focus on my athletic goals. Instead, I would be worrying about maintaining a full-time job. I sincerely appreciate the consideration." Corey competed in football, wrestling and the discus throw at Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose, CA. He attended the University of Redlands for football and discus, but eventually discontinued the discus in favor of the javelin after winning the US Jr. Nationals and placing second at the Jr. Pan American Games in Ontario, Canada at the end of my first year, 2005. If not for a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered trying to make a tackle his junior season, White probably would have remained at Redlands all four years, splitting time between football and track. The knee injury gave White time to reevaluate his priorities, a process that ultimately convinced him that starting for a Division III football team wasn't worth jeopardizing his future in the javelin. My mom suggested I transfer to a Division I school, soI transferred to USC before spring semester of 2007. I received my degree in Psychology and hope to use it one day in the field of consumer psychology. I am just beginning to establish myself as an international force in the javelin. In my off time, I am the throws coach at West LA Junior College and a personal trainer. I spend my nights going out with my girlfriend and other friends around LA. Occasionally I will go to the driving range or play a round, but I definitely won’t be changing sports to golf any time soon. On those days when I don’t feel like leaving the house, I have been known to sit in front of my TV playing Xbox.
