Getting Started

Over the past several years, track & field and running have experienced substantial increases in popularity and participation. The leadership of USATF, realizing there was substantial, untapped potential for track & field to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of American youth and emerging elite athletes, created the USA Track & Field Foundation.

Making a Difference

The USA Track & Field Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs, with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging athletes, distance training centers and anti-doping education. The Foundation depends upon donations from its Board of Directors and from generous fans of track and field.

The Foundation, via Youth Club Grants, assists America’s youth as they develop into tomorrow’s stars.

Through the Elite Athlete Development Grant program, the Foundation assists dedicated Olympic hopefuls with their ultimate dream of competing in an Olympic Games.

The recently launched Elite Athlete Career Program is two-faceted; a jobs program to help provide additional income and a mentor program, to assist athletes with career advice for when they transition away from competitive life.

The Foundation is committed to:

  • Exposing more young people to the benefits of track & field and funding travel to major youth events.
  • Supporting emerging elite athletes (grants, jobs & mentoring).
  • Supporting the Distance Project – elite distance training centers throughout the USA.
  • Assist USA Track & Field in its fight against drugs in sport.
  • Promoting the development of Team USA, the World's #1 Track & Field Team.

It is only through your support and generosity that the USA Track & Field Foundation will be able to achieve its goals.

There are seven levels of giving opportunities, ranging from the Bronze Donor level of $50 to the Life Benefactor level at $100,000. Other levels include Silver ($100), Gold ($500), President's Club ($1,000) and Benefactor ($10,000). Benefits are awarded depending upon the amount of the donation and range from window stickers to assistance with ticket purchases to major events and more.

Donations may be directed toward a specific program.

Our Leadership

The strategic direction of the USA Track & Field Foundation is managed by its Board of Directors, Chairman Bob Greifeld (CEO NASDAQ) and Tom Jackovic, Foundation Executive Director.
